An extensive search has been launched for a charter ski boat, captained by a KwaZulu-Natal skipper, that has gone missing at sea close to the Mozambican border.
The National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) said they were alerted around 17:00 on Saturday about the 21-foot Yeld Cat ski-boat, ‘MAGNUM TOO’, its local skipper, John Matambu, and his passengers, being missing at sea in uncertain circumstances that appear to indicate foul play.
NSRI spokesperson Craig Lambinon said the chartered vessel is believed to have departed Sodwana Bay in northern KZN early on Saturday morning.
